According to a report by RFA on 20 February 2007 from Phnom Penh has revealed that two more Khmer Krom Buddhist monks in Kampuchea-Krom are facing prosecution for the alleged crime of leading the non violent demonstration against the Vietnamese authorities. Venerable Kim Mean and Venerable Thach Doc, fourth year students of the Pali school located in the province of Khleang [renamed Soc Trang] have been forced out of their school and are expected to return to their original province to face further charges. Both Venerables were accused of being leaders for organizing the non violent demonstration on February 8th 2007, in which over 200 Khmer Krom Buddhist monks and civilians alike demanded for the release of sixty other monks held under house arrest. Interestingly, both Venerable Kim and Venerable Thach were involved in the negotiation with the local Vietnamese police during the demonstration and are now facing forced disrobement and possible imprisonment on Tuesday 21 February 2007.
